Balatonfured- Ten American and one Austrian artist are exhibiting at the Ferencsik Janos Zeneiskola, in the city of Balatonfured. At the opening reception Beata Szechy, Director of the Hungarian Multicultural Center, informed us that “this annual artist’s residency is a way to introduce the invited artists to the people of Hungary.”

One of the exhibiting artists, Georges Le Chevallier, took time to answer questions about his public artwork, titled “Kerdojel” (Question Mark). He explained to us “The question mark is a symbol with lots of meaning. It’s the only symbol that makes you think, and everyone brings his or her own interpretation to it. When I arrived in Hungary I was not too sure on what I will be working on, and also if people would understand me or my artwork. The inspiration for my work was born out of this dilemma.”

Apart from “Kerdojel” you will be able to see in this exhibition different paintings, photographs, drawings, and artist made objects.
