Presented with the 2007 Winter Quarter Outstanding Faculty Member Award.
Organized and implemented an undergraduate curriculum in Visual Construction. Developed drawing skills using traditional media, resulting in a successful exploration of visual styles, rendering methods and the understanding of design elements.
Planned and put into practice an undergraduate curriculum in Color Construction. The students efficiently grasped concepts in color theory by working in projects using the raster-based software Adobe Photoshop.
Prepared and implemented an undergraduate curriculum in Conceptual Design. The students explored the application of design elements in the expression of ideas and concepts by working in projects using the vector-based software Adobe Illustrator.
Organized and implemented an undergraduate curriculum in Digital Photography. The students gained knowledge of the photographic process focusing their attention to composition, design and planning.
Prepared and executed an undergraduate Art History curriculum in the Survey of Western Art, resulting in the students’ understanding how historical and political events are both a cause and catalyst to changing styles in art.
Took the initiative to organize, catalogue and digitalize art images to effectively create an Art History Digital Image Library in the school’s network with easily access to all instructors.
As Gallery Coordinator, worked in unison with the different program coordinators to effectively produce the quarterly Gallery Exhibition and The Screening of Digital Media, Film, Audio and Animation in the school theater.
Marketed the Gallery Opening Reception and The Screening of Digital Film, Audio, and Animation by administrating the design and printing of postcards, brochures, and posters, as well as composing correspondence and press releases. Oversaw and hosted the event, by successfully greeting over 140 people with exhibition brochures, hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Prepared and administered the viewer’s voting forms to successfully select the best artworks exhibited.
Created, juried, and catalogued a Featured Student of the Month Exhibition in the School Library by effectively preparing students in the multiple steps of showcasing their artworks in a professional manner.
- Le Chevallier is enthusiastic and interactive with both students and faculty. He is an active artist and shares artistic opportunities with his colleagues. We have enjoyed having Georges Le Chevallier working here as he is responsible, friendly and helpful.

Prepared, and executed an undergraduate curriculum in Art Appreciation at the Franklin Satellite Campus, and at the Medium Security Federal Prison in Butner. The curriculum resulted in a productive dialogue about the analysis and interpretation of multiple art forms and media.

Organized, and put into practice an undergraduate curriculum in Art Education: Methods in the Elementary School, successfully training prospective elementary school art teachers with an innovative bilingual syllabus, instructional approaches, evaluative procedures, teaching techniques and materials.
Conducted exhibition tours in Spanish and English at the Lehman College Art Gallery.
Developed and executed an art curriculum effectively relating the art produced with the gallery exhibition and interrelated ideas. Some of the themes explained in the art classes were design foundations, traditional and contemporary painting styles, and life drawing techniques.
Designed, co-curated and installed the Lehman College Art Gallery Annual Children’s Art Exhibition.

Visiting Art Instructor, 1998 – 1999
Met individually with each kindergarten teacher in the school to establish an art curriculum linking the art produced with a specific educational topic being discussed in their respective classrooms.
Followed the curriculum by teaching all kindergarten art classes, working in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, found materials, and ceramics.
-Originally recommended to us by El Museo del Barrio, Mr. Le Chevallier’s presentation far surpassed our hopes and expectations. We explained our desire for him to culturally connect with our primary Latino student population, and he did so in a manner that brought accolades from a fellow art teacher with over thirty years of teaching experience.

Led exhibition tours and group discussions in both Spanish and English at El Museo del Barrio, a museum dedicated to preserving the artistic heritage of Latin Americans in the United States.
Planned bilingual hands-on studio art workshops. Instructed in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, found materials, and ceramics.
Attended financial resource meetings with supervisors and other artist educators, resulting in successfully meeting budget quotas.
Met with various school district representatives to work out an art curriculum relating the art created with important topics in the Latino Community. Traveled to several public schools throughout New York City to implement the approved art curriculum to Spanish speaking students, for whom English was a second language.
-It was through his instruction that students were able to gain an understanding of how an artist makes decisions and solves problems using his particular tools. Georges was enthusiastic about his work with the students and related well with both staff and students. We look forward to working with Mr. Le Chevallier again.

For the Visiting Artist Studio Arts Program, organized, planned and implemented 1st through 5th grade painting classes. Lectured the students about different art historical movements and artists, then encourage them to explore their own abilities to use the painting techniques discussed.
As an Art Consultant to the Annual Foreign Language Festival, coordinated French Impressionist Painting workshops to teach the students about a different culture, art movement, and language.
Shared with other students the artworks created in the painting classes by supervising the exhibiting of the artworks created throughout the school.
-Speaking four languages as he does, Mr. Le Chevallier seems to me well equipped for teaching in the present times…his background and training is not only reflected in the high level of his work, but of great value is his ability to speak cogently and with insight quite beyond his years about art.

Designed, produced and supervised an after school Advanced Painting Mural Project effectively completing a 15’x 71’ mural at the Media Center building with the assistance of students from the 10th through 12th grade Advanced Art Classes.

Assembled with various community representatives to discuss how to combine the subject matter of the murals produced with specific neighborhood issues. As a result of such meetings, designs were finalized to create site-specific inner-city murals painted with the assistance of 8th through 12th grades art students.

Counseled high-risk youth about pre-employment job skills, and the challenges they face in everyday inner-city life aiding them to make better choices about their future.
